Ok, so I've been a bit remiss in getting these on

And not only that - January will follow.

So far, January has been Landscapes, for this I wandered down to my local Coldrum Stones but yet to get them processed properly
February has been Nude and Glamour, see the next post
March has been Working Environment - watched a farrier at work for the afternoon and took some really dire photos, again, will get them on soon
April has been Transport - I went up in a microlight on Saturday so have used that as my focus this month
May was Children's Portrait - I had a christening for that so was quite apt

I'm enjoying this so far, albeit the lack of posted photos

Individual images aside (on the iPad, so can't judge too well) I really love the potential of these as a set- possibly a poster. It's just begging to be put together spelling the alphabet or a team name! :)

Interesting, I can see that this would be a really challenge because of the shiny poll starting to disappear into the background as reflects all the bright white :( maybe this would have been better against something other than white  as it is I think they're a little bit too over exposed here hair looks really natural in #1 and #4 almost looking like a model that's been cut out and imposed onto a blank canvas :(

It may just be me but the first two look a little more tanned than the second two, maybe a saturation or white balance issue or it could be down to exposure but shouldn't be too hard to fix in PP

As Mark has said there is a lot of potential in these images to have some fun with ideas

Most unusual pole-vaulting I've seen in a long while :D

I like the white background effect, it helps the subject stand out nicely - with the size of pics it's difficult to judge the quality, they look a bit soft and noisy but it may just be because of the size ... or my eyes!

what in really want to know kelly, is how you fired the shutter for these self portraits ? :exit:

Thanks Mark. Hadn't seen it that way. Might have a look through and see. Or I might suggest that to the girls as an idea for a calendar or something so the front page spelling out the name of the gym and then various poses through the calendar

Thanks Matt, I think most of that is my pp-ing skills which are sadly lacking, The first two are a bit more tanned as it's a different girl :D

I will get back to the drawing board with my processing though. I think I need to study a few more videos.

I think if it was on a black background then it might not stand out so much though? The background was a white vinyl one

 thanks Gramps. They may well be a bit soft and noisy, I wouldn't necessarily blame your eyes. I shall have another look in photoshop and see if I can get that fixed

 such a charmer ;)

Thanks for your comments all. I shall get some more processed and posted soon

I think the editing is my biggest issue here, not the background itself. The lighting needs more thought.

Yep. My editing definitely leaves something to be desired

What would you do differently about the lighting. I had no control on the day as I was shadowing a photographer for the afternoon but if I was to do it again then might be good for me to know

Thanks for your comments

Thanks Joe. Your themes each month are certainly testing me!
