Now that's what I call a ZOOOM

Interesting the link doesn't mention the weight of the lens. Knowing how much a Nikkor 200-400/4 weighs, and the 500/4E weighs 3kg, reckon over 12kg.

10kg Dumb bells from Lidl will be much cheaper.

I take it that the two bearers, to carry the lens and the tripod, are extra... :naughty:

It's been around a while (Google suggests a release date in 2008), and has it's own battery to power the AF motor and power zoom.

It's certainly one where you mount the lens of the tripod, not the camera

Think I will get a couple with adaptors for my G9s :)

Anyone with the correct skill set would be able to get the same shot with a 55mm micro.

Good luck with that in oh so many circumstances!!!

15.7Kg weight. This would make it unusable to me even if I could spend that amount.

I have a Tamron 18-400 lens on my 77D or 90D Canon camera when I do any shooting outside my studio. It has worked so well that I now don't bother to take any other lenses with me anymore since this one lens can work so well for me that it has become my one and only lens for most field use. It's weight isn't much more than a Canon 70-300, and not taking any other lenses in the bag lightens my bag rather than making it heavier. When I last checked, they were still available for about $600 US.

I remember seeing this on the Sigma stand at the Photography Show in Birmingham about 2012

The Sigma guys reckoned they had the names of every buyer in the UK

I’d put a hood on it to make it bigger.

But only one dangly bit at a time will be in sharp focus!
