Now I can't use PSE8

grrr....didn't think I would have this hassle!

Have installed the relevant DNG converter for PSE8 for the 550D. but it still won't open RAW files.
any ideas what i am doing wrong???

Version acr 6.1 and newer will open 550d files what version are you running

I was under the impression I have installed 6.1.

Let me check I am doing this right...

I have downloaded and upzipped version 6.1...do I have to do anything else?? I am not very good with this uploading/installing lark....I bet I am doing something wrong...severely!
