Yes
gone back to an slr after not having one for about 18years :)

have to say loving it so far

got a 450D with Canon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens and 75-300mm f/4-5.6 non USM lens was a good price and thought it would make a good starter kit

Im going to africa in october (victoria falls , botwanta and south africa )

im wondering if the lenes will be upto the job Its my wedding / honeymoon so need good images for keeps

also been worried about dust want to keep lens changes to a min or better still never

if I have to get another lens top of the list is the canon 100-400mm L buy off fleebay and sell back if need the money later :)

only thing that worries me about the lens is it appears to be quite heavy when I tried it in jessops the other day

Honestly, leave the 75-300 behind, it's generally recognised as possibly Canon's worst lens ever. Buying a 100-400 and selling it on your return (if you can bear to let it go) is a good idea.

Agree
The 75 - 300 is a bit carp

The 100 -400 L is lovely, yes it is a bit heavy but you get used to it
Get a decent strap (Optech etc) and that will make all the difference:thumbs:

thanks guys

that was my thinking also just need to spend the money

what about the sigma 150-500 is that also a lens worth looking at ?
worries me though that im starting at 150
