I am a total novice who has no idea about anything photographical. I would welcome advice on where I can join a group for disabled photographers. Mostly on the internet as I do not get out much.

Hi

Welcome to TP

Look forward to seeing some of your work

Why not take part in our annual TP Day today 9th September, youve got 2 hrs left to take a shot, Where you take a photo on that day and post it on the forum, then all the Photos are made into a slideshow, Click the logo for more details, it's lots of fun to be a part of it:thumbs:

Macro or still lifes would be a good area for you to get into, have a look around those sections and get some ideas, also creative photography could be up your street, ie water droplets, fun fruit, food, and products, like jewellery and such photography all things I do when i get layed up,

what camera do you have?

as previously stated - Its not a competition here, unless you enter one of course

Just enjoy what you do- and if you like the results - thats all that matters

welcome both to Talk Photography, friendliest forum on the interweb

We've a few disabled people on here. Have a search for Wheels and see what he has achieved from when he first started. He's regularly in or taking for the local press etc.

Hi

First off welcome I have only been on the group a couple of months but they are a friendly lot.

Not specifically disabled but every month my prescription bag is more like a shipping order.

I was forced to drop the hobby once but life was so much worse and I bought back in.

I ain't young and some older less firm people I know use scooter and wheel chairs. They carry a camera bag onboard and do it that way.

Also as others mentioned macro still life and even birds that visit where you live.

Quick with it

Sorry meant stick with it even after you take the shot you can have fun processing the image and posting it.

The group give yo0 some free space and if you join Flickr they will give you a free account till you see if you enjoy it.

Anyway main thing enjoy and welcome

Allan

You may notice i forget things hence,,, one other thing i did and do enjoy is printing my own shots at home.

If you get a printer look for something that you can use copy inks for use the internet to search for deals on photo paper maybe even get a folder or two for your images great to look at if you feel ill that day
