Nothing wrong with the camera but take note if you are buying a Sigma lens.. ;)

Read on folks

Thats very similar to the chipping that Sigma offered for compatibility of their lenses on certain Canon DSLR not to long ago. Its a problem that reverse engineering can cause and in all fairness it is good of Sigma to offer the service for free.

These 3rd parties not keeping up with technology....tut tut ;)

I have to say this is one aspect of this forum (and there are many others) where it really scores !

Early warnings never came so early ! :smilenod:

By the by - I do not use Sigma but appreciate being in the know. :thumb:

Thanks for the heads up, I will be looking at going for the D200 in the new year and it would appear two of my lenses need firmware upgrades

I had to get a couple of Sigmas rechipped when I bought my EOS 10D and the service from Sigma was excellent. They had it done very quickly and returned the lenses within a week. So it should not be too onerous a task to get yours sorted.

(The fact that the Royal Mail then delivered them to the wrong address and couldn't get them back for some reason was not Sigma's fault, I saw the signed and dated delivery slip from the Royal Mail. Sigma sent me two new replacement lenses without argument).
