Not the best experience with Camera Jungle

Not normally one to complain, but a bit pee'd off with Camera Jungle. Ordered a flashgun last Sunday which seemed a bargain - radio silence with no dispatch confirmation. I emailed them, no reply, and then on my second email they said they had responded to my first email already and they didn't have the item in stock even although they originally had one logged for sale on their system - and that they would have to refund me - but still no refund. I would have thought that they should have refunded me the day they realised they didn't have it - ie shortly after ordering it. Anyway, I don't think I'd use them again as it's all been a bit slow and I've had to do the running around to find out what's been going on. Given it's Cyber Friday I understand things will be slower - but I ordered the Sunday previously. I've had a much faster and better resolution from mpb when things go wrong

Surprised they are still operating, a while back they just seemed to stall and have nothing available.
Refunds to card can sometimes take 5-7 days but if no joy contact your card issuer. :)
 
My recent experience getting a Sony E mount lens was flawless with CJ and very quick. It was about three weeks ago though so maybe the black friday thing does have something to do with it.

I don't like the whole in-stock not in-stock thing though. Annoys the hell out of me.
 
Ah well - not much improvement to the situation. They say they have issued a refund already - but there's no PayPal refund showing. My experience with Paypal is that once a refund is actioned you get a notification straight away - and it shows on your transaction list straight away too with the monies arriving back shortly afterwards. Feels like a lot of chasing my end with no volunteered information from their side. Fingers crossed it's resolved today the 8th working day after I ordered the item.
 
In the past I ordered a lens from them that was at a good but not outrageously low price.
Like you I waited then eventually got in touch with them to be told that the lens was phantom stock and should never have been listed on the site.
I got my money back in the end to my card but it took a while which is Visa AFAIK.
What annoyed me was I wanted the lens for a trip and if I'd known it wasn't going to show up I would have ordered elsewhere, but by the time I knew it was too late.
I don't hold a grudge when I worked in retail phantom stock was common and annoying to everyone.

Phantom stock is one thing - poor customer service is another. Still no refund, and they didn't respond to my last email either. That's 2 emails with no replies. In the end I decided to ask my bank to step in as waiting 10 days for a refund for stock they didn't have is poor. Also claiming they had refunded me when they hadn't.... I'd expect a refund within 3 days of placing the order if they didn't have the item to fulfill. Won't be using them again, and can't say I can recommend them. If I hadn't emailed them at all, I'm wondering if I would have heard anything as they haven't volunteered any information throughout.
 
In the end I had to go through my card issuer and they issued me with an immediate refund. Really poor experience with Camera Jungle - won't be using again
