Well, been under a consultation process at work for the last 30 days as restructuring with risks of redundancies etc.
Final meeting today everyone else in our team (4 altogether) have been made redundant

I was the only one who kept my job

I am relieved but feel terrible for everyone else.

my work just made 4 of our 12 warehouse staff redundant.
scary times.

Survivor Syndrome - very common in these circumstances - I come across this daily in my line of work (psychometric testing - well, advising companies on what/if/how to use).

scarily the palce I work for has taken on 2 people in the last 3 weeks . . .

I give 1 of them six months before they leave from what I've heard. I meet the other on Tuesday . . .

That's not a nice position to be in Robin, but a bit of selfish thinking wouldn't hurt. Just focus on the 'better them than me' approach. I know that sounds awful, but there'll be a reason they went and you've stayed :shrug:

The one or two people who never liked their jobs in the first place could view it as an opportunity to do something they like. God works in mysterious ways but it is a very bad situation if you are paying a mortgage or a loan.

I feel sorry for the staff I used to work with on an occasional basic as the company went into liquidation and they were not paid for December!! Not a good time of year. They had to try and claim it back from the Insolvency Agency. They took two weeks to send the form, four weeks to acknowledge it then they asked for past payslips within four working days or they would cancel the claim.

I got made redundant last week myself.So well done for keeping your job.There's not alot of work out there at present.As above you have to think of number one.

Sorry to hear that jimc, I really hope you manage to find something, I have been made redundant before and it was not nice, however looking back it was probably the best thing that ever happened to me
