Well following an equipment advice thread a week or so ago I have decided to buy a new lens. To fund it I got rid of my Sigma 10-20 and 30mm. This was a tough choice as I really liked those lenses. BUT there is a reason. Over the past 5-6 months I have undergone some heavy steroid treatment for my asthma. This has had an adverse effect on my muscular structure resulting in some shakey moments. Naturally this has effected aspects of my photography. After testing the lens in a local shop and seeing how it handled my situation I decided to place an order.
Despite varied reviews etc I decided to go for the Nikkor 24-120mm VR. Why this over the 18-200 VR I hear you say? Well, if you take a liitle gander at my sig you will notice a Nikon F80 is present. The lens will be used on both systems where on 35mm the 24mm wide end will be great for some landscapes. I am also finding myself shoting more film these days, its just more personal and satisfying to me.
Looking forward to getting it! Only cost me £399.95 from Purely Gadgets (only people who had it in stock).
So whats next? Well, first of all get the shakes sorted out. But hopefully we will see Nikon release a 300 f/4 AFS IF ED VR in the future.
Will post some shots once it arrives (hopefully by Friday).
King.
EDIT (PICS ADDED): No sharpneing applied, straight from RAW, which generally requires a little sharpening
Point that thing at me again and I'll stamp on it!
Did you not hear what I said?
