Hi Guys,
The last couple of years I've been using Blurb and producing their 'standard portrait 8x10' softcover books of the kids. I do ~100 page book every 3 or 4 months of our best pics, and this is about £30 - fair enough.
I've noticed that the quality has been a bit hit and miss the last year. Just today the latest book arrived of the newborn pics (100 pages on top quality paper)....
20% of the images are too dark, some have a horrible red skintone as well and the pics are also pretty noisey. These images are fine printed on my printer, at jessops, on screen and everywhere else, but not Blurb. It's only 30 quid a book every 4 months, but still, it could be 1p per book - they aren't much use to me when the quality is so bad now:shake:
Anyone noticed issues with Blurb in recent times, and did anyone contact them with much success? They are going to say 'we print as supplied', but this isnt the case as the front cover is completely different to the same pic on a page in the book - horrible red skin cast
and 'underexposed' (the image isnt) - looks like a different picture.
I should add, their delivery (via UPS) is pretty fast (on standard delivery), and the paper quality (I use high quality matte) is good.
Any recommendations for similar sized books? Cost is not so much an issue as I want quality as you would for these type of 'keepsake' books. I'm thinking maybe 30 quid was cheap and I should expect this (if that's the case i'll spend £100 somewhere else from now on as its not acceptable
)
Cheers!
