So what has been happening? loads to be sure. First of all with the house we just purchased we had 4 aerials taken off the roof and replaced with just one, yes i don't understand the need for 4 aerials either unless they were in contact with outer space. Next had a locksmith in to repair/replace 7/8 locks. Next we have been arranging for a new central heating boiler and replace a couple of radiators with heated towel rails and remove one radiator completely. On top of that we are going to have the main bathroom ripped out fittings wise and a complete new bathroom suite put in . So today the plumber and a tiler plus electrician came to get ready for next week , today ordered tiles to collect on this thursday. Also on thursday having a widow firm in to sort out some sticking windows and a couple that don't open. On top of that ordered a couple of new beds for a couple of spare bedrooms comming this friday. AS well as that Sue my wife has gone mad with the paint brush indoors. I also have also remove a scaffold pole type thickness hand rail on the outside steps to the conservatory and eased off the same doors so they open properly.Oh forgot to mention a new carpet fitted in what was the dining room now my study/office. Plus a few bits and pieces needed doing as well as going shopping for food.

You may well think that is all. far from it apart from getting rid of a load of rubbish (twice) to the council tip in Easbourne ( they accept 8x4 trailers 3 days a week).I saw and have been following information on the new Nissan X-trail released last Thursday . It just so happens that was the day we went to the tip and just happened to pull into a Nissan dealership, strange how my car decided to take that route :) . They didn't have one in the showroom only had a demo top of the range naturally . We originally went for the N-TEK?bit later on decided the top of the range the Tekna suited us better, so ordered that instead. We shall collect it on the 1 Sept 2014 yes because of new plates even though I shall have my own put on the car. Got a deal on the 2 cars of ours well above what we were expecting o paying well under half price balance from out own funds.

so as you can see retirement? what is that? busier than ever and not even started with the garden. With all this going on I have managed to loose a good few pound in weight , maybe because of not having fry ups in the morning and crisps etc during the day, oh and possibly sorting out the 6 car garage divided into part workshop part caravan/motorhome areas and the previous owner had more wood in it than Titanic for work benches etc etc. Not just small benches oh no half tree trunks and had to use my chain saw to cut them up as they were cut from top to bottom .
All that since 27 June 2014. By that time next year we should be more or less sorted HOPEFULLY.
So that is why i have not been around much

I think the most interesting question here is what was your job and pension arrangements if this is retirement?! ;)

sounds rough, hope it gets better for you soon.

Wife and I decided to get everything done as soon as possible, not the quick bodge it or never touch method as used by the previous owners. Luckily the cost of getting things right is paid from the difference of selling out business and house and just a bit of our savings on the new car.
Always something to keep one busy ,the great thing about retirement is doing what you want when you want " if er indoors lets you"
