Hi - I'm after suggestions for a trip to Northern Ireland for the bank holiday weekend. Taking the car on the ferry over to Larne so will probably take the coast road up to Ballycastle. Many years ago (about 10) I visited the marina and also the Giants Causeway which I intend visiting again. As I'm over for 4 days what other areas are there of interest (sea/landscape, ruins or things of interest) is on the northern coast and any advice of times of day (sunset/rise etc).

Thanks in advance.

Hello skiking. I think Carrick-a- Rede rope bridge would be a must stop. Not to far inland if your into Game of thrones which I never watched before, you have the Dark Hedges, bare in mind I was there last August and the place was buzzing with cars/busloads of people, but I believe now, no vehicles allowed to go up the road. Take a detour on the way to Torr Head for some stunning views.
Sorry I cant help you more, only into photography since Christmas so only was interested in viewing the beautiful North Coast by eye. Hope you have a great time in Northern Ireland and the weather stays good like yesterday and today.

Good luck Walter.

Ballintoy Harbour (Love this place)

Dunluce Castle

Giants Causeway (Make sure you use the public footpath and not the route through the visitor centre so you don't have to pay the extortionate fees) https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/...-centre-furious-at-ticket-costs-28778813.html

Dark Hedges (Need to go around 6 a.m or it will be bunged full of tourists until late evening)

Mussenden Temple

White Park Bay

You could probably do all of those on the same day if needed.

If you're heading up the coast road from Larne, there's a nice waterfall in Carnlough called Cranny Falls. I was there on Saturday, and you can drive up pretty close to it (if you ignore the 'Private Road' sign). We also took a walk along the Harbour in Larne and got some nice sea/landscapes and plenty of sea birds. Apparently there are dolphins about there as well but I didn't spot any.

go to Belfast and see the murals on the walls amazing stuff

Many thanks for the replies. I few that I had heard of but with the extra tipe which is appreciated although not a fan of 6am :(

I'll look up the others and see if I can plan them in. As much as I've been to Belfast a few times (non-togging) I never gave that a thought. Its slightly out of the way for the Larne crossing and I wish I had thought about this last night as I could have sailed into Belfast (I think).

Thanks again
