Sorry if not strictly in right place but am heading to Criccieth in north Wales tomorrow and want advice on good spots to go for landscape photos pls! I only have Sunday morning to do this and have a wedding in Criccieth at 3pm- is snowdonia out of reach for a quick 1hr drive to a good spot? Tack!

Hi

Its a beautiful location, Snowdonia is less than an hour to the East and there's lots of lovely villages to the West including Abersoch which is less than an hour drive.

It's a lovely part of Wales.

forget about snowdonia you probably wont have time. Up around the llyn peninsula were criccieth is situated is a lovely area. Spend your time exploring the fab coast and coastal views as well as the pretty villages around there. Morfa Nefyn is a fab area http://goo.gl/maps/TiYp3

Try taking a route to Criccieth via Betws y Coed, then Capel Curig, and head for Beddgelert.

As you leave Capel Curig you will pass Plas y Brenin, the Outdoor Centre.

Park as soon as possible on the left hand side after the centre and walk down the footpath adjacent to the centre, to the lake, near the bridge, and you will see the Snowdon Horseshoe ahead of you over the Lake, and an early morning shot (in good weather) will have it nicely lit.

Good luck with the weather and the images.

HTH.

Then carry on down to Beddgelert, Tremadog, Portmadog and on to Criccieth.

Hello  from Criccieth you can be in the heart of Snowdonia within a 30min drive, you will need to head towards Porthmadog then follow signs for Beddgelert, when you arrive in Beddgelert turn right over the bridge and keep going you will soon realise you are in Snowdonia and plenty of opportunities for Landscape photography.

And as Dave said this is just as you pass Plas y Brenin, the Outdoor Centre.
