Sorry, I thought the Catskills was sufficient info. It was seen in wooded country in Hortonville, Sullivan County, New York State.It woudl help if you could say where it was seen - location and teh type of habitat. Did you hear it call? That is the most reliable way of identifying many flycatchers.
It would help if I used my eyes!! Sorry, did not see the Catskills! I would agree thatit looks like an Eastern Pewee - looks like it has wing bars and no eye ring.
