I use it... but am making it up as I go along - probably need more help than you 
Mmmm I am not sure as yet! I think like all bits of software that LR is difficult to get started with, I have learned photoshop the hard way and hope I could find an easrier path with LR.
I can see the logical nature of LR but I fiddled witha few trial pics but can i find a save as JPEG button? NO!

File | Export | Export to Hard Drive. Then select jpeg in the File Settings.

I'm liking it... but not played with it enough yet, took me a while to even find how to 'Save As' seems it doesn't exist in the normal way you would expect

Lightroom takes a different way of thinking!
Rather than changing an image you are recording a series of changes to be made to your original image. The changes are stored in Lightroom, so your original image is never changed.
