Beginner Noob using a 322c2 head

Hi

Recently bought a 322rc2 head and am using it with redsnapper tripod but for some reason no matter what I do I cannot get the head level.

The tripod is level. I have added some photos which may help.

Please help with what I am doing wrong.

It's quite fiddly, as you've found! I use the 322 head but have the QR platform mounted so I work it with my left hand rather than my right (not that it makes any difference to the problem, just allows me to drive the camera with my right hand and the head with my left. I've found that as the lever is released, the movement away from the level setting is fairly predictable so I try to compensate at the setting up point and hope that it settles to level. For really critical stuff though, I use a 410 geared head which allows fairly swift coarse adjustments then can be micro adjusted to achieve perfect levelness.
