Non OE-Battery for Dell 1545 Laptop

I wonder if anyone could give me some advice or guidance please ?

I need to replace a failing battery on a Dell 1545 laptop. The Dell batteries are horrifically expensive. Does anyone know of or can anyone recommend any non-genuine (and hopefully much cheaper) alternatives please ?

I use a non-OE battery (9 cell) for my Dell Vostro laptop, bought from Amazon (seller was Battery World) in January 2011 and it's going strong. I've just found the order, it cost me under £18 with free delivery. Much better value than a Dell OE replacement.

What is the product code of the battery that yopu need. I have a brand new Dell battery somewhere that may be of use to you.

Hi Chris.

The battery type is X284G and it says it can be replaced with a GW240, RN873, M911G, GP952 or X284G battery.
