I checked this 40D kit out earlier this afternoon....
It's ex-display....
*VERY* ex-display....
Lens elements marked, rear lcd screen scratched, dings a-plenty....
...and yes I did make an 80 mile round trip to check it out
Wack wasn't to know it's condition 'cos it was in a (re)sealed box - no blame whatsoever there - but PCW have got some balls asking 3p off £600 for it.
On the other hand many brownie points were earned from swmbo because the new electric fire that she wanted was in stock and with much cheapness in the Homebase up the road
I'll tell her about the new 1D I've also been looking at later....

It does amaze me as how they get in such condition! I worked in retail for 17 years - and our electronics seemed to end up the same way - people seem to have no care for 'demo' products..

Don't worry about it! The label marking it out as ex-display was very ahem! discreet - my trip over certainly wasn't wasted!
