Took pictures in a sports hall with fluorescent lighting. The pictures were of a basketball game I shot with my 40D and a 85mm f1.8 - no flash used.

I had to shoot at upto ISO 1600. Most of the pics display noise and in some cases the pics appear a little soft (only a few Im getting better!)

I shot JPEG and RAW - I have Photoshop Elements and Canon Software.

Urgent advice needed as I want to get the prints to the teams in best shape for early next week!

Many thanks Simon

Both elements and DPP have a noise reduction option (it's in the raw converter section in elements) can't remember where it is in DPP. You might however be better off trying Noise Ninja, Neat image, or Noiseware pro, all are very good (Noiseware the best IMHO) I think neat image had a free version, don't know if it's still on offer though. Cheers Wayne

Have tried out some of this software - free demo stuff. Will probably purchase one of them.

The photos look okay now.
