Hi. I'm a guy who knows how to make a short story long...

I bought my first Mac in 1998 and I had to learn how to troubleshoot the thing in a hurry. I found myself spending spending far too much time on various Mac help sites, and eventually became quite competent at maintaining my machine.

Since OSX, Macs have gotten increasingly more stable. Unfortunately, routine kept me glued to the Mac help sites. I found myself posting in the lounges and chat rooms. I started posting Desktop photographs I had taken.

Finally, a chap suggested I might be better off posting my images in a photography forum. What a novel idea! I've been hanging out in a North American-based site, then I discovered this place and thought I'd give it a shot.

I can't call myself a photographer – I take snapshots. Sometimes, they're pretty good. I put it down to luck, mostly, though I've seen enough photography in my career to know a good shot from a bad one. (I hope.)

Anyway, I hope to be posting the good ones more than the ones that just mean something to me.

For starters, here's a shot I took recently in Wimbledon Park:

Cheers for now.

Hi, and welcome  ... and a fantastic shot, if I may say.

I want a FREE lunch now :(

I second that blue man in gay hat...

Nice pic, welcome :)

Thanks, all, for stopping by to say hello.

I'm a bit depressed by all this gloomy weather lately. I always carry my Canon IXUS 70 with me, but hardly ever get it out of my pocket in weather like this.

To cheer myself up, I've been going over past holidays and the last time I saw the sun! Our motorcycle trip to the Pyrenees was in two glorious weeks of sunshine, but over a year ago!

I did a ride report. It's a bit long-winded, but if you've got several hours to kill (it does have happy snaps!) :

(A note about the photographs: I knocked this website together when I was still using my ten-year-old 22" LaCie CRT monitor. I didn't realise that it had become fuzzier over the years until I bought my new Dell 2408WFP! I found that every photograph I ever posted "BD" – before Dell – was over-sharpened. D'oh!)
