No Sound from YouTube

I'm running Windows 8.1 with Firefox and when I went to play a YouTube video I get the video but not the audio. I must admit I usually watch on my tablet so I'm uncertain if an update .may have caused the problem.

I know my speakers & soundcard are OK because they work fine with windows media player.

Any suggestions please

No its not muted

If you Google "no sound on youtube" it comes up with loads of advice.

switch to the html5 player (best to do this anyway to get away from flash player) and see if that helps

I've tried some of the things suggested such as reinstalling the flash plug in and tried to download the windows media pack but still no joy. I thought I'd check on here to see if anyone had had the same issue and if they had overcome it

I've managed to solve this & thought I would post in case it helps anyone else. Go to the sound icon in the windows task bar and click mixer. I discovered that firefox was on mute :coat:
