I've managed to avoid the perenial Xmas gift this year. Asked what I'd love for the festive season, the answer has been ... FILM please. That will boost the stocks in the fridge and cut the cost of old fashioned photography for the foreseeable future. Nice one Santa.

When they see the price (especially if it's colour) then they might think it's a substantial present.

I'm asking for some dry glass plates this time.

The (adult) kids might get me some 35mm colour, Gold probably will do. I've enough 120 at the moment. I've not actually shot any film since the Snowdonia trip in September!

Each year, my family ask me what I'd like for Christmas. Generally speaking, I'd be happy with nothing - it's enough that we're together, in a warm and cozy home (energy prices notwithstanding!), eating and drinking well... but my family insists. So, this year I've requested a few rolls of Kodak Gold (which I already bought cheaply - £7 per roll - during a recent Amazon event), a Lomography daylight developing tank (which I don't need, but I'm curious to try... also bought, and put away), and a couple of books, one of which is photography-related (yep, bought those too!). On top of that, there's usually a bottle or too of decent wine coming my way, and the obligatory chocolates... but no socks. That was last year (at my request, believe it or not), and I've enough to outlast me...
