Yes
No battery power remains

That is the message I get on my panasonic fz82. It has been on charge for the whole afternoon at least four hours, but no life in it at all.

I have googled the problem with no satisfactory result.

Any ideas?

Are you charging the camera directly?

If so, it may help to use a separate charger. You can buy a charger with two spare batteries from Amazon for less than £25. The one shown below was £11 or so without a battery...

Yes I am. I have done it since I got the camera over 18 months ago without any issue.

That suggests that either the battery has died or the charge circuit in the camera isn't working correctly.

If the battery is dead you'll need to get a new one. If the charge circuit has a problem, try resetting the camera...

Follow the instructions under "LUMIX Compact"

Two most obvious possibilities:

1. The charger is goosed & thus the battery is empty
2. The battery is goosed & thus the battery is empty

Obvious way to determine which is to either acquire an additional battery or an additional charger - the law of maximum inconvenience decrees that if you acquire a charger, the battery will be at fault or if you acquire a battery that the charger will be at fault...

Amazon deals with that for you by offering a charger plus two batteries for £25. If that doesn't solve the problem, you can always return them.

I think I will order a charger and battery ....... and then find out the camera is at fault .... lol

Have you got a link to that offer @AndrewFlannigan thanks

No worries found it.

while talking about batteries I have just ordered a second spare for my camcorder. I must be going nuts or something. I could have sworn I had already done this but checking up it looks as though it was for the G9ii not the camcorder. the annoying thing was "er indoors" insisted I got rid of all my camera gear including a Panasonic Hc-X1500 camcorder with spare batteries. Later on she said I could buy another. Thats women for you "I dearn't say what I think".

Just recieved new charger and batteries. Put a new battery in the camera and it works.
