Nikon's 50mm for the D60/D40x/D40

Nikon have at last made a 50mm for the D60/D40x/D40 which has an auto focus motor built into!

Gutted to all those who have bought the normal 50mm for your D60/D40x/D40 and have to manual focus it!!

But the new 1.4 wont cost anything like the 1.8D.

Yea I know that. The new 50mm is around £249 and the normal 1.4D is £186. So I think the price is just about right really

It'll be more like £200 by the time the HK boys get them

I'm not a fan of the 50mm, but I bet I end up with one of these, espeially as they have changed that horrible shiny pastic finish to the crinkle type found on the pro-spec lenses

I got a D80 because Sigma was the only one producing compatible AF-S and I bought an AF lens. I was wondering when it would come out but looking at the price, but my D80 was about the same price!

But good to know (a real treat for D40/D40x/D60 users).
