Very quick answer needed on this one people please.

I'm mostly through a timelapse that's been going for a few hours now, only the battery is getting low. What's the normal Nikon behaviour if the battery dies part way through a time-lapse? I.e. will it complete the video or will it corrupt the whole sequence? I'm not sure whether to let it go until then or end it earlier to ensure file fidelity. The camera in this case is a D4 but I'm guessing no-one has the specific answer for that body, just for Nikon's in general please.

Cheers.

Surely the timer just takes individual images so you can drop the battery out and restart between intervals without corrupting the entire sequence? I use a hanhnel giga t so don't have this issue as its easy to just swap battery between intervals

If it's a timelapse it's not shooting video, so it'll be fine. If you can do it without moving the camera, swap it out between photos as Jacob says.

The end result is a compiled video in camera and not a series of images, but I'm not aware how it compiles it and in what container hence the question. FYI I ended it early to avoid problems.
