Nikon W/A. 20mm 1.8G or 18-35 G ?

I faced a similar question last year when I was deciding between the 2 and Zeiss 21mm. I opted for a second hand Zeiss in the end, only because one became available at a price too good to miss. I would have probably gone for the fixed 20 if the zeiss didn't come along.
 
Is the Vivitar AF or manual ?
Although I'm not too bothered TBH.

It's purely so I can get used to W/A stuff, and landscapes to find out my preferences.
When I finally get the prime I want, I'll most likely move it on anyway.

I did well there Mr. Minnnt.

I found it okay focussing then screwing on the 10 stop filter at the weekend.

As long as you use a smallish f stop it's so wide at 19mm it doesn't matter that the focus moves a little.

Worth pointing out that the Tamron (and another version iirc) doesn't rotate as it focuses so it's better for using a CPL.

LOL. Not too bothered about a few quid TBH, as I will likely be selling it on anyway.
It will have served it's purpose by then, and it's still cheaper than buying and selling an expensive lens.
 
Anyone after as close to minty Tamron 19-35mm boxed with all accessories as new, place a wanted ad and tag me. I bought the lens of here last year for £70.00 and it's what Wex have offered me and it's going to them tomorrow morning along with a 35-70 f2.8 lens I purchased off them last week, to enable me to get a 24-85mm or similar for the VR.

As it's Gary's thread he has first refusal, and the price will be fixed at £70.00 plus postage of buyers choice.



Hope the above isn't breaking any rules, just trying to help out other members if they place a wanted ad.

That's not on Flickr yet but looking at the exif data it says 32mm.

No lens maker or model.

4 secs f16 with Hoya 10 stopper if anyone's interested.

Seriously Gary - do what David's suggested (unless you feel particularly compelled to buy from ebay)... I'd rather you get a top notch version of this and I can wait for another time.

I'm only offering to buy it from @Swanseajack on the proviso that you definitely don't want it (which is a great scenario for SJ I guess!) so I really don't mind if you take it instead.

If you definitely don't want his, if you do let SJ know then I'll happily swoop in and get it. Don't worry @minnnt - I'll probably play with it for a bit and swap it out for a prime some time soon anyway :)
 
Gary & Paul,

Here are some pics of the lens, as I mentioned it comes boxed with all paperwork and accessories. On Paul's wanted ad, I have said we will wait until 7.00pm for Gary to confirm if he's interested in mine otherwise Paul will have it.

Shame I had to go to work. Didn't finish until 10 PM.
I would have had this, but there we go.
But I have commited to the Ebay sale, and it is only for me to try different F/L to find which prime I will buy.
