Ok so heres the thing, when i view a picture on view nx2 i can press the shift key and the picture will zoom in x1.0 according to the little scale on the top right of the screen.
This is great for checking close up detail and sharpness etc etc.
My problem is that when i do this most of my pictures look crap, so, am i being unrealistic by zooming in too far and expecting too much or is the quality of my pictures really crap? If i dont zoom in i have pictures that look great, but if i was to zoom in by the same amount on someone elses picture who was a far more competant photographer than me, would it be the same?
Is this making sense so far?
The reason i ask is that one of my favourite websites/facebook page is airteamcanon and the pictures these guys take are simply breathtaking in quality, however, would they zoom in by x1.0 and have the same problem?
If anyone can make sense of that and give me an answer id be most grateful!!!!!

When you zoom in any defects will become more apparent, most websites do not display full resolution images so they will be smaller and more forgiving to the eye ... however they may also be considerably better taken than yours :)

Does it also depend on what your viewing them on as well then.... ie a 12in screen or a 42in screen

I have notice it as well with some images (on certain photo sites) that as soon as you view the larger than large images they aren't that super duper...

I can agree/understand what the OP is saying thou - but putting into words that greater minds can understand is not so easy :D
