Nikon USA highlights details of Capture NX2 upgrade policy

I don't think I qualify for the free upgrade, presuming that this will be offered to UK customers too; but at least I may get the discounted upgrade, which isn't a bad thing :)

Thanks for posting this.

So you spend $5000 on the latest camera but they won't give you the upgrade for the software! People who bought $200 worth of software do get the upgrade......Thats logical.

Wonderful customer service.

Can't see a problem with that....... the customer was given the software free when they bought their D3/D300. Nikon are then saying you only pay the upgrade price NOT the full whack for NX2.

Well, that's how I see it  I do get some things wrong ;)

Customers who received a copy of Capture NX with their D3 or D300 are not eligible for the no-charge upgrade but still qualify for the discounted upgrade edition at an MSRP of $109.95

That's a saving of $90..... but what about punters who bought it before May 2007? Me, for example!

Yeah, it was "free", but the D300 or the D3 wasn't. If they were bought at the time when the offer was available they were either full price or not far off it. I'm just surprised the entire year's supply hasn't been shipped over to Bejing like everything else to squeeze every last penny from their customers :shake:
