Hello all. I use Nikon NXD for editing my photos, the transfer built in with nxd has many options, one I use is to tick box for deleting files after downloading, This has worked fine with my Nikon D800e, I traded in the 800e and bought a Nikon D850 ,with the same transfer setting the files are not deleting.I know that I can delete files by other means.I was wondering why things are different with the D850. has anyone any answers. many thanks.

Hi and welcome to TP

Not a Nikon user.........but possibly the NXD software needs updating because of the D850 having a different programming to the 800e???

All being well other TP'ers who use it will be able to give some more specific insight :)

That's a slightly scary setting I wouldn't use! But do you have the latest update of Transfer? There have been issues in the past when new cameras were introduced. I think it's packaged with ViewNX-i (and older versions of View), not sure about Capture NX-D (presumably your NX-D is reasonably up to date, or it couldn't handle D850 raw files). Anyway, it can't hurt to update both if necessary:

If all else fails you could try plugging the card into the computer and downloading from that

I always upload images, view then and delete the ones I don't want and when I'm happy I format the card in camera.

That way if I delete one by mistake I can re-upload from the camera. Not all files deleted from within a program are put in the Recycle Bin especially the larger files. Windows 10 OS but did apply to earlier versions.
