I've managed to track down a abunch of service manuals for Nikon Speedlights and a qualified electrician to have a look at them, my question is, are there any suppliers or people who have any old flashes or parts for sale?

I think I saw the American camera shop (Amadala or something, sounds like the guy from Battlestar Galactica  ) selling toast flashes.

adorama? Not sure of anywhere in the uk. Just out of curiosity, what parts are you after?

Not sure yet as I got it on ebay. Apparently it turns on fine but the bulb just wont fire. Hope it's just a bad solder, maybe the bulb, but i think I should be able to find the fault (I used to rip into one of the guys at work for having an osciliscope, who's laughing now?) even if I can't fix it.

Here's the link to it:

For £25 I think its worth the risk as if I can't fix, I should be able to sell it for parts.

oops, forgot to thank for the link! Cheers!

be really careful - the voltages in those things can kill you, if not throw you accross the room

Don't worry, got a sparky at my work who is going to do it for me  I once (about 10 years ago) took apart an old flash that I got of my grandad. NAturally being a teenager I didn't have the best of tools so I used a teespoon to get some of the parts out. touched the terminals. Won't being doing that again.

I've got a service manual for it too, and it show you how to safely discahrge the unit without having to take it apart.
