Having just taken delivery of my new D500, I've been trying to get the snapbridge side of things working, and I have to say it's flaky at best unless I'm doing something wrong ?
I basically use two phones, an Iphone 6s for work and a personal Galaxy S5 (with OS 6 - Marshmallow). Obviously the IOS app for the Iphone hasn't been launched yet so I couldn't try it out with that, so for the time being have stuck with the Android version of the snapbridge app for the Galaxy.
I followed the instructions to the letter ( I think), and using bluetooth connection, when I got the screen asking if the bluetooth pass code matched that shown on the camera screen, (which it did), when I pressed OK on the phone, I get an error message saying the D500 couldn't be connected. Have tried this over a dozen time now with the same result each time.
I thought I'd therefore try NFC, so turned this on in the Galaxy settings and used the NFC method of touching the phone to the camera. Well I'm new at this NFC lark, but I tried every surface area of the camera with every angle of the phone (concentrating on the NFC logo area around the card flap), but nothing. So I tried again (for about the 5th time) and this time just held the phone there and after what seemed an eternity (about 30 seconds), it finally registered the phone and I was able to connect. However later on when I tried to connect again, - Nada nothing !
So whilst a good idea in theory, in practice it seems to leave a lot to be desired and hopefully due an update soon ? Roll on the IOS version, maybe that will work better ?
Anyone else experienced these difficulties or is it just me
