Hi, just wondering if this is a good flash? has anybody had experience with one? and would it work with skyport radio transmitters?
i would mainly use it for BMX and skateboard shots but also some portraits.

so would it be a good buy really?

thanks
Josh

A well sought after flash, full manual settings and will work with skyports.as to good buy, depends how much

I would say that is about the right price assuming it's in good condition, although I got mine for a bit less off fleabay... ;)

Got one from someone on here for £70 and it's awesome - as good as my SB800 but without the built-in light sensor. Great for off-camera flash work - buy it :)

ahh thats nice to know.
is it good for on the camera too? (heard stuff about power outputs etc and i dont quite understand so want to check)

no, on camera, it does not TTL (adjust it's power output automatically), so you have to manually set the power level, or at least manually set the aperture that you're shooting at.

if you want auto power level, you need a 600/800/900.

Stick in AUTO mode and it's fine - see a previous thread here :). It's only TTL it doesn't work with DSLRs because it doesn't support iTTL

ahhh cool. those results look the same pretty much! seems like a fairly decent buy tbh. esspecially for what i need it for.
thank guys
