Nikon Repair Recommendations

Came across an advert for Simon Whitehead (coincidence with the same surname as the one we used to use in the past), anyway just a phone call and you never know if the advert is of any use?

There is a company in South London which I believe is used by Grays of Westminster (unconfirmed) but they refused to clean and re lube a 35/70 AFD lens supposedly there were no spares! I didn't want it repairing just cleaning. As the spares for the FE2 and F3 are probably unobtainable now the same may be true with your 2 cameras.

Have a look at Sendean Cameras. Greys Of Wetsminster pointed them to me so maybe they can help.

Just got my Canon A1 back from Dan Ho who fixed the squeaky mirror return. I'm sure he is prepared to take on other, more complex, work. Indeed, he has offered to have a look at my Kodak Stereo which has a strange back story which I might reveal in the future. He does work for Analogue Wonderland.

I've got a beautiful but dead FE2 and a couple of F3s that need servicing. I've used Newton Ellis in the past, but the business in 'in suspension' until March, and whilst their work is superb, they are rather dear. Does anyone have alternative suggestions?
Hello all,

Newton Ellis has risen from the ashes (sort of) and we are all setup in our home workshops from 1st April 2025 doing limited film camera/lens repairs. There is a list on our website of the models we are looking at. Such cameras as the Olympus OM-1/2, Nikon FE/FM, F2's, Leica M series and Rolleiflex plus most prime lenses. We can be contacted from our website (as I can't put any links here) if you need any advice or repairs.

Best regards,

The Ex. Newton Ellis team.

I've had my F3 repaired by Miles -- did a great job replacing fault and spotting (and fixed ) an upcoming problem

I don’t think Miles Whitehead is taking on any new customers; he was ‘scaling back’ his business a few years ago

Edit: his site isn’t working any more

True ......I emailed him about a fix to my Nikon F3

his email reply did state he was working only a few days each week, but he agreed to do the F3

Never used them personally, but have heard good things about these people

I think they just farm the repairs out.

erm doubt anyone would continue with stripping down my F4 for shutter speed not working :(

Hi folks,

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but thought I'd also offer up our services for anyone else looking for film camera servicing in the future. I happened to see this thread when doing some googling.

We (South West Camera Co.) specialise in Nikon F3 & FM2/FM2n, we also have a technician who specialises in various Pentax 35mm cameras too, but we do cover other makes and models for a variety of servicing and repairs. As I'm a new user on here, I can't post links, but if you google us, you'll find our website which also contains a contact form and our email address + a lot of information!

Please do get in touch if I can assist at all.

Many thanks & best wishes,
Alex
