They are all over eBay also, the exact same one or a variation. Have been reliably informed they do what they say on the tin! And at only a couple of quid if they don't last long you've not really wasted much. One is on my shopping list?

Just a thought though....I wonder if you have a programmable remote for the tv etc. you should be able to get that to work with the ir sensors on a camera too in theory...
 
I have one from eBay, paid a couple of quid with a spare battery, does what it says on the tin.
