The Nikon D3300 had some interesting features built in- one of which is a 15X15 grid representation of the relative contrast and saturation of the current picture controls. The following is a reproduced grid (inside the double line) with the normal, maximum and minimum values on it. A box is drawn for each picture control to represent the range that it can cover. Monochrome is off to the right as it only has contrast.
The basic value are the circled ones in the middle (eg L0 is where landscape is with no changes to saturation or contrast)

I don't know what the scale is for contrast or saturation but it might help someone imagine what the picture controls do to the picture.
