Nikon p7700 or cannon g1x

I'm intrested in getting a high end compact and have narrowed it down to the nikon p7700 or the cannon g1x, but i cant decide, i'm swaying towards the nikon, but this has got no view vinder and a smaller sensor than the cannon, but the g1x autofucos seems a bit slow and the reviews dont seem to be very impressive. any thoughts please
 
I have the Nikon P7700 Jason. Only used it a few times, but so far I'm very impressed with it.I have no regrets at all.
I like the fact that there are lots of settings to play with.
I almost didn't buy because of the lack of viewfinder, but it's not my main body and I've soon got used to it. I keep it in my car permanently.
I used it on New Years Eve, just felt that I didn't want to leave the D4 and lens lying around. I was more than happy with the results.
I know nothing of the g1x, so can't help there I'm afraid.

I had a g11 and if that is anything to go by don't get hung up on the viewfinder on the g1x. Its tiny and only covers about 75% of the image
 
I used to have a G12 and never used the viewfinder once.
