Nikon used to publish a bunch of optional picture controls for the D300/D3/D700 that add in Portrait, Landscape and three which replicated the D2X. Unfortunately the website which had them has been moved elsewhere and they were not replicated on Nikon's site.

Does anyone have copies of the .NOP files which are needed to load them onto a camera that they could send me? I am interested in the D3/D700 ones in particular.

Thanks

Andy

Found them, well most of them, on the Nikon China website. I have the Portrait and Landscape for all of them and the D2X ones for the D3X and D700. The D2X ones for the D300 and D3 look like they are on deleted web pages, so gone.

The portrait picture control looks nice.

Try this site, tons of picture controls, have a bunch loaded into my Z6ii https://nikonpc.com/
Seem to be ok with a lot of the older Nikon cameras.

Thanks. I've used that before but it didn't have what I was after.

The NCP/NP2/etc files are modifications to the existing profiles (Standard, Neutral, Vivid, etc). The optional picture controls installed the basic profiles for landscape and portrait for cameras which didn't have them (D3 series, D30 series and D700) using .nop files. The .NCP files don't work without a profile to modify. For some cameras there were also basic profiles to replicate the DX2 (apparently low vividness).

I've made up some .NP2 picture controls to replicate the D80 (standard and vivid) and D700 (standard and neutral) in a more modern camera. Also to do focussing peaking in live view. They work pretty well.
