Morning all, is anyone using the 24-120 non Z mount lens, I mean the older kit lens that used to come with the D750s etc? I'm thinking of going to this lens with the adaptor, to save myself some money. Currently have the 24-200 and I'm not really impressed with the quality of it, I wonder if the 24-120 is better?

I've no experience with the adapter, but the f4 version of the 24-120 is a great lens. Far better than it's reputation as 'just a kit lens'.

As Trevor says, the fixed f/4 aperture version is pretty good, the older kit lens (as supplied with the D700) is rather less so! Not had or used the 24-200 to be able to offer a direct comparison.

Thank you both :)

Anyone used one with the Z adaptor?

I use one with the adapter, no photo quality issues from me. The only quibble is I’d like to get the Z version but this one works so well I’m having a hard time justifying the expense.
Thank you for this, makes me confirm my thinking too :)

Any further opinions on this?

I had the newer version of the 24-140 f/4 and found it to be a very good all-round lens. I can't think of one single complaint. I found it great as a walk-around lens.
Sold it quite some time ago now though.

Vastly underrated lens. I recently used it with my D850 and even got to the point I prefer it over the older 24-70. Had mine since 2011, one of the early adopters.
