Nikon kit lens upgrade

Sorry, I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times already on here but I'm after some advice.

I've got myself a D7200 (upgraded from D90) with a 35mm f1.8, Tamron 70-300 USC and Nikon 18-105.

What I want is an upgrade on the 18-105, doesn't have to be that exact focal length, I'm looking for just a standard walk-around zoom maybe 18-50/70 ish range, I've used the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 in the past but wasn't happy with the corner sharpness, even stopped right down.

I'm thinking maybe Sigma 17-50 f2.8 or Tamron 24-70 f2.8 (little pricey however), I mainly shoot landscapes and architecture.

Any suggestions welcome.

The Sigma 17-70 looks to have some good reviews also, so may look into that one a little more.

I thought the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8, along with the Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 were amongst the best fast short zooms for crop bodies tbh so maybe you got a bad copy? The 24-70mm would be 36-105mm on the D7200 so probably not wide enough for 'classic' landscape and architecture. Minnnt's suggestion of the 18-35mm f1.8's not a bad shout if you don't mind only have 52.5mm eq at the long end.
