Right, I think I'm gonna go and buy a Canon 550D, anything that nikon brings out in the immediate future is going to cost £££ and may still not be as flexible as a magic lantern'd 550D.

Any suggestions, experience or recommendations for lens adapters? Annoyingly all but 1 of my lenses are G. Heard lots of good things about Fotodiox adapters...

I've never used one but beware with the cheaper adapters, often the tolerances and quality control can be poor so things like infinity focus can be affected

yeah, I've heard similar. Meh, think I'll risk one like this for £25 before spending loads more, seen several people saying good things about them

Dave, I've got a fotodiox adaptor to use my nikon primes (including a 50 1.2) on my 5dmk2s and it's great. I've used cheaper adaptors for m42 etc lenses and the quality just isn't there. They aren't cheap, but given that you're spending the cash on a 550d just for video it makes sense not to hamper it with a cheaper adaptor. True, it's only £25, but if you end up buying the fotodiox anyway its £25 wasted

D800's landed, costs a bit less and does a bit more than I thought it would. Oh decisions...

I've filmed using Nikon Lenses and adpeters on a Canon 550D and was amazed by the quality. The Audio was good enough for a guide track and with a good grade the footage can be converted to ProRes 420 and be fantastic!

The Camera adaptors make it really cost effective to by cheap manual focus OLD Nikon lenses from ebay useful again for the cheaper end of the DSLR video market.

yeah, they're certainly a very capable camera, especially with the magic lantern firmware.

I'm not going to be buying lenses specially, I've got thousands of pounds worth of nikon lenses, just a bit annoying that they're 'G' so no aperture ring!
