I need a lens with more reach than my 24-120 gives me. The main uses will be wildlife, country sports photography and also some equine show jumping.
The choice has come down to two Nikon lenses:
70-200 f4
70-300 AFP-S FX
The 70-200 is going to be technically superior and a very sharp lens. However, I would only get an additional 80mm reach over my current setup with a lot of overlap.
Would I be disappointed in the IQ from the latest 70-300 FX lens, or is the latest model quite good?
