Nikon Firmware?

Hi all

Just seen a mention of firmware updates on another thread, a thing I've never done, so googled Nikon D5300 firmware and found

Note
Once this firmware is installed, the Windows edition of Camera Control Pro 2 versions 2.22.0 and earlier will no longer be able to detect the camera. Upgrade to version 2.23.0 or later.


Firstly, is this the best place to download from?

Secondly, is this webpage up to date?

Thirdly, is there any point in updating if it's not relevant to me? I don't have any AF-P lenses, I don't do any RETOUCHING on camera and the camera doesn't freeze when scrolling in my preferred language.

Your call, if you are not experiencing any issues then "if it ain't broke - don't fix it" comes to mind

If you want to update my thoughts are give it a month after the issue date,any problems with the update will soon come to light on forums like this.

Be aware that there is a school of thought that says firmware updates are not always restricted to what they tell you it fixes
