Hi Folks

Can anyone help me?

I am thinking about selling my Nikon F4 500mm P series lens (manual focus) which I use for wildlife pics but I have no idea what they are worth now. Does anyone have any ideas. I also have an F4 300 AF lens which I am also considering selling but again I don't know what a reasonable price to ask would be. I also own a Nikon F5 35mm Camera body but have now given in and gone digital!! I have checked the internet but couldn't find much info on secondhand values.

In case anyone is wondering why I am contemplating selling, I am investigating the viability of buying a Nikon 200-400 AF VR lens.

Thanks to anyone who can help

Ken

I heard a rumour that Nikon was to stop making the 200-400 AF VR lens...

The Nikon F5 is the best film camera that Nikon ever made, with the possible exception of the latest (and possibly the last) F6. You might regret parting with it. I'd seriously have a think about keeping it as the body will still AF with the latest lenses. They're not fetching much - have a look on ebay. :(

I don't have a clue on the lenses, but a web/dealer search should yield some idea.

I found this on the 500mm

The guy was selling his for 1700 dollars(US) - around 8 or 9 hundred quid?

Anyone with a Nikon who didn't mind manual focus would be getting a bargain at that.
