Hi Nikon users,
When I bought my D300 body last January I registered it immediately with Nikon to take advantage of the free second year warranty. I heard no more, but was advised by Nikon that all was well but the underwriters (Homeserve) had not yet sent out the letters of confirmation.
Mine arrived recently (more than 9 months after registering it) and it simply offered me a second year warranty on payment of nearly 80 pounds for an extended warranty - no mention at all of the "free second year". I spoke to Homeserve and, to be fair, they called Nikon straight away and confirmed that I was entitled to the free second year warranty. I have asked them to confirm this in writing - let's hope they do.
So I advise anyone in the UK who registered for the free extra warranty to check with Nikon and/or Homeserve that they actually have it. It doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.
