What's the difference? My dad picked up a Hama EN-EL-3 battery but I have a Nikon D90 which has an original Nikon EN-EL3e battery. Can I use the Hama one?

Unfortunately I don't think it will work, you can use an EL3e or 3a in a camera that originally came with an EL3, but not the other way round.

If you compare the batteries one has three electronic contacts, the other only two. The third contact is for the battery meter in your D90, if the camera can't connect to this (because in the case of the older one it isn't there) it won't recognise the battery, sorry.

Great point. I didn't think of comparing the contacts. Well that leaves me to sell it on here when I pass the 1 month/100 post limit.

The newest camera it'll work with is the D70s, so I doubt it'll be worth much, £1, something like that.....
