Nikon D80s/D90

I see on another post some one has said there is talk of a new Nikon D80s/ D90 does anyone have anymore info. I am looking to upgrade my camera and was thinking of a D80 should I hold off??
 
I've not seen or heard anything but rumors. I would bet that the next model will be the D80x rather than a D90. Are you upgrading from a DSLR? If so wait for the latest model but if your upgrading from a compact then you won't go wrong with the D80, it's a great camera.
 
i have had a D70 for a while now and think its a fantastic camera it meets all my needs except for one thing the auto focus. its not the best and this is a big problem for me as i do a lot of motorsport photography, I had a wee play with my mates D50 and the AF on that i think is a lot better that the D70
 
Well, the Sigma 70-300 should be fairly slow to focus on any body, especially compared to the 70-200 Nikkor. I have the D50 and afaik, the D70 actually has a stronger AF motor built in, so unless there's a factor I don't know of, it could have been just chance.
Besides, the next greatest thing is very often just behind the corner, isn't it ;)

Perhaps the motor on your D70 is a little 'worn out' (highly hypothetical)?
 
the sigma could be a bit slower on any body but when i put it on the d50 compared to my d70 it works faster :shrug:
 
it sure is its just the feeling i got when i used it :bang:
 
I can't remember how long after the D200 was launched, the D80 came out.
I'm prepared to wager it will be a dumbed down D300 in Nov/Dec this year.
