As I mentioned previously been looking for a Nikon dslr with in body motor , been told the d90 has this but I,ve seen a d80 and its nearly half the price ,question is how different is it to a d90 and does it have the in body motor ?
Did a google but not much info , does anyone use one ,how long they been around and how much life will it have ,is it possible to check shutter count on these ?

The D80 has the motor, but to be honest it's an old camera nowadays and not much more will get you a D200, which has the same internal gubbins in a more weatherproof magnesium casing.

The D80 is a good camera but uses older technology. In the real world it's a D90 without the video and High-ISO control.

If you shoot mainly outdoors or with flash it will do you good.

Old technology but nothing wrong with that, after all what did we do before the D90 :D the D80 is a very capable camera, as is the D50 before it, and as has been said will do you a treat outdoors (and in with an off camera flash) , if you can stretch to a D90 definitely do as the ISO capabilities on it are just great in comparison, however if you have to go for the D80 you won't be disappointed :)
