Hi gang.
I've just sent this message to Nikon Technical Support and wondered if anyone had come across anything similar.

"I have just (Today) sent my D750 in for the recall/repair. I thought this may be of interest/relevant.

I noticed that when when shooting under stage lighting (LED) that if my shutter speed goes above 1000th sec then I get quite severe "banding".

I have enclosed two examples from the same performance; the affected image is at 1500th sec and the clear image is at 90th sec. I put it down to the high shutter speed / led light combination, but could it be related to the D750 shutter issue? I couldn't repeat the effect with my D3s."

It looks to me as if it's just an artefact of the shutter speed and mains-frequency lighting. Your D750 has a flash sync speed of 1/200th. So for the second picture at 1/90th most of the exposure will have occurred with the shutter completely open, whereas the first picture at 1/1000th was exposed through a little slit in the shutter which traversed the image. The motion of that little slit interacts with the light source 'flashing' at 50Hz (not perceptibly to the human eye) to create that pattern of light and dark bands.

Nothing to worry about. (At least, as far as the camera hardware is concerned.)

Yes I was thinking something along those lines. Thinking back to a recent thread about issues with florescent lighting.
