can anyone recommend a remote shutter release that people are using(either a cord or wireless device) that would be compatible with a nikon D700? looking for something not too expensive for long exposure shots.
I was about to buy a "proper" wireless trigger/remote, and then I thought I would try a couple of Yongnuo RF 602 triggers/receivers which I have.
They work fine. Receiver on the hot shoe, connected via a cable to the camera socket, and the trigger can be used to focus (half press) or trigger (full press)
What's more they are dirt cheap, and I have a few anyway, so they cost me nothing !!
Aputure co worker works fine on my D300s, various models available from ebay, (company called reddoor I think) wireless to over 100ft, receiver works as a cable release on its own, just beware of receiver battery prices, national electronics store M....., wanted 2.95, found a multipack in Poundland for, you guessed it.
I use the RF 603's which work very well, but they and the RF 602's only work with the camera shutter speeds, so if you want to use Bulb for longer than 30 seconds you will have to look at other options.
