Has anybody purchased the Nikon D600 from digital rev and have you had any problems with the dirt /oil on the sensor that seems to be an issue with this camera
 
I bought a Nikon D600 last October and I have recently had problems with oil on the sensor. I understand that this is a common problem wih this camera. I phoned the shop- Carmarthen Cameras where I purchased the camera from, and they told me over the phone that it will have to be returned to Nikon Uk in order to "change some parts". However, on visiting the shop, they agreed to clean the sensor free of charge, which they did within an hour. I believe that Nikon UK will sort out this problem under the guarantee.
 
Sorry for this, but will nikon uk undertake the warranty work if it was bought from digital rev?

If the camera was a grey import, which this Nikon probably was,then you are quite right in suggesting that Nikon UK will not repair such cameras. I was not aware that Digital Rev dealt in grey imports. Thanks for the info.
 
Any 3rd party repairer will work on it, (paid), e.g. Fixation.
